Hiking Series #7: Scrub Gap Gate to Jack's Mountain Road
Sunday hike. This is a 7+ mile hike that climbs up through Scrub Gap and then follows along game lands roads to Jack's Mountain Road. Once at the top, the hike is tamer and there was the option of taking the trail relocation to get there (which is a bit easier, too). We met at the park across the bridge from Mapleton since there is not parking at the gate

Hiking Series #6: 1000 Steps to Scrubs Gap
For this 5 mile hike, we exploree Big Incline and Little Incline to the top of Thousand Steps and then descended to hike over to the Rt. 22 crossing and through Mapleton. This hike is moderately difficult with the climb and descent down the Steps. Since a loop is involved, you can do just the loop or from the Steps to Mapleton. We'll met on Route 22 at the base of the 1000 Steps.
